Hi there,
Just wondering if there is anyway to ignore qvw files under the app folder ?
I know this is a way to migrate qvw documents into qvf files but it would be nice to turn off this feature
for example in the settings.ini file.
Thanks
Mark
Hi,
I'm assuming you are using the desktop version, since QlikView and Qlik Sense can't co-exist on the same server.
In any case, I don't see why you would need to keep your qvw files in the Qlik Sense app folder. I would keep the qvw files in another folder using binary loads in your Qlik Sense load script to access the qvw files.
Hope this was to some help.
Kind regards,
Pedro
HI Pedro,
Thanks for the response.
I was just hoping there might be some setting to turn off this feature.
I really noticed it when I copied the QDF folder I had into the qlik sense App folder especially when the variable editor qvw appeared about 4 times.
Since then I have moved the QDF folder out of the app folder.

Hi Mark - it sounds as if you are mixing the QlikView Deployment Framework (QDF) content structure with the Qlik Sense folder structure.
Based on your last reply, that is also what I would recommend. QDF is specific to QlikView and its file structure and content.
QVWs - should only be copied to a Qlik Sense app (apps) directory - if you want to convert the the data model / script over to a Qlik Sense .QVF file (app) - upon doing so the .QVW file is renamed to .backup - where it then should be removed.
Since the products are intended to work on separate systems, I would not mix the two. There aren't any plans at the moment to add this setting, but I will have R&D review this thread so they are aware what organizations are doing in this regards.
