Hello all,
We have a large app (~4GB) that is used for nprinting purposes. Users login to the app and make selections and kick off nprinting reports.
We see an issue daily and consistently at 4am-5am when users cannot access the application, the window hangs at 'Opening the app'.
The one message i consistently see in the engine system logs is "QF: Waiting on file [filepath] to be released". This message repeatedly shows up in the logs for about an hour and after it stops showing up the app loads fine for all users.
We have tried to replicate the same selections, users etc but are not able to recreate the issue.
Any idea on why the application is getting locked or guidance on where i can look to?
Appreciate any inputs
Hi @srik00001 from your description is sounds like some other software is causing this error. This is why it is recommended to install Qlik Sense to a dedicated server. What other software is installed on the server ?
Are the recommended exclusions in place ?
Yes all exclusions are in place. This is also a dedicated server for qlik sense.
We also tried looking at the process monitor and did not find any file locks on the specific file.
Is there a way/tool we can use to check if file is getting locked and why/when it gets released?
Hi @srik00001 yes you can use Procmon;

We have tried the tool mentioned in the article and did not find the file to be locked per the tool.
Is there a limitation on the number of connections from nprint, maybe to qlik or postgre sql? since nprinting connects with a single account and multiple users can run same report for different selection parameters.
Hi @srik00001 you can try to increase the MAX connections for postgres.
