Hi,
Is there a way to migrate current QlikView dashboards to Qlik Sense.
Yes you can migrate but you not able to get user interface .
Means design part.
Please take you qlikview and copy into qliksense folder once you placed in sense folder then it turns into .qvf format .
Can please let me know the path where we can place the .qvw files
%Userdocument%\Qlik\Sense\Apps\
or simple open Sense Desktop and Drug & Drop your qvw in sense window.
and in the directory where you have the original file will file with the QVF. And the original file is renamed with the prefix backup.
for example
c:\temp\app,qvw -> drop to Sense -> get c:\temp\app.qvf and rename app.qvw to app.qvw.backup
!
Check in where you installed qlik sense .
If you installed in c folder then default it save in
below
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps
then you can see examples which some of .qvf resides
Tried to drag the files, but it shows an error that: Section access information was detected.this is not supported in qliksense desktop.
is section not supported in Qlik Sense ?
Hello Sasi - in addition have you seen these videos that explain and show the process:
Main video page: New to Qlik Sense Videos
Please note - you are not "migrating" in the true sense of the word. Migrating infers that you are required to move to a newer major release of the same product or different product. With Qlik Sense - it may not be necessary to move QlikView apps over unless the use case or need require it to. You CAN convert your QlikView scripts and data models over to Qlik Sense - but the visualizations are then recreated. Here at Qlik, our goal is not to replicate "everything" that can be done in QlikView in Qlik Sense - it is to find better ways of analyzing data and providing ease of use for self-service data visualization needs.

Sasi,
Section access is available in the full Qlik Sense server version, not the Free Desktop version.
