Hi,
How exactly is a user suppose to reload a Sense App?
Assuming I ship him the App once, but the QVD files every day.
Thanks!
Hello Dafnis14 -
They would open the app and go into the Data Load Editor and click the Load Data button.
Providing the Folder connection path is pointing to the same location where the file is located, they would not need to change this.
BTW - If you have not seen this already - there is a complete list of comprehensive videos that will show this process when using apps with Qlik Sense.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the answer and the reference to the videos.
This is a bit problematic for most of my intended users.
I sure hope that this could be resolved in some sort of a button from the app view, without exposing the editor.
Nor should it be dependent on the future Sense server,
Thanks!
In the Qlik Sense full platform (server), reloads are done unattended on a scheduled basis or as needed.
The Qlik Sense full platform offers a full set of APIs so something like you have mentioned (button) can be done programmatically from within an app mash-up. (Think of it like a web page with the app layout - running in a web browser with a button to load the data on demand from the source)
However, just for your reference, Qlik Sense Desktop is designed for FREE self-service local desktop analytics and data visualization, it is not designed to be deployed in the manner you are describing.

Hi Michael.
For Qlik Sense Cloud Business it is necessary to reload the data with the Data Load Editor button? Or is there another way without exposing the editor to my users?
Regards,
Daniel M
hello,
if you are looking for a reload button within the app you can use an extension:
GitHub - mhamano/Qlik-Sense-Reload-Button: Reload Button for Qlik Sense
hope it helps,
Andrei
Hi Andrei,
Thanks for your response, but as I am using Qlik Sense Cloud Business it is not possible to use extensions. Right?
Warm regards,
Daniel M
Yes you are right. Qlik Sense Cloud Business doesn't support extensions...
I thought I read that one version of Cloud you could schedule reloads? I don't use Cloud much so I am not up on what all is currently available.
I do use the free version to share an app with a client until we figure out a permanent solution. But I have to do a reload locally. Then upload and republish manually. A pain. But it works for now.
Hi Daniel - sorry for the delay - check out this video - no - you can schedule data refreshes:
Qlik Sense Cloud Business - Orientation
Check out the time-code: 11min mark.
Here is a quick instructional video: Qlik Sense Cloud - Refreshing data in Qlik Sense Cloud apps - YouTube
Let me know how you do.

Mike
