Scheduled Tasks take a long time to execute

hi All,

I am facing a weird issue .

Have an 3 apps which refresh under 30 seconds individually when i try to refresh through the data load editor, but when i schedule them

through Tasks in QMC they take upto 5 mins to sometimes even more to finish.

I am using the qlik sense ODBC connector to IMPALA to extract data from Hadoop.

Any suggestions as to what could be the issue would be helpful.

Thanks,

DO check for:

- is the data center same place as the QMC Server.

- network Latency between QMC server and the Data center.

- QMC server account would be also loading other dashboard.

Hi Rupam,

Thank for your reply.

- is the data center same place as the QMC Server.

No , but network latency it very low.

- network Latency between QMC server and the Data center.

No , but network latency it very low. I guess if latency was the issue then the load through data load editor would           also take a long time.

- QMC server account would be also loading other dashboard.

Just these three as of now.

Is this a "MultiNode / Claster" server setup?

I noticed ridiculous slow down once i turned on second RIM in environment. 5 min reloads were taking up to 30 minutes, and sometimes it was even having issues with connection to source.

I think latest release may fix that issue as it adresses different sync method.

BTW - If it is claster, try to disable other rim and leave only central rim for testing. See how it goes.

Hi Lech,

There `s no clustering this is a single node installation with only the central node , and scheduler on the same server .

Qlik Sense  version 3.0

Thanks.

How do you trigger reloads from QMC? are they going all together or one after another one?

I do not know how big individualy those applications are so i can only speculate. Also I do not know what is script doing during load.

If you run all of them at the same time maybe your server is struggling with memory or CPU consumption or simply connection to DB is not able to transfer data faster.

Maybe try to run those tasks from QMC in cascade and observe individual reload times.

Do you have a dedicated server for QMC or its a Virtual Server.

If you are using ODBC/OLEDB. Maybe increase the the Buffer Size of the connection.

How did you solve this problem? I have the same problem. I'm running a central node and a RIM node.
