Set Default Value in a Qlik Sense Mult-select Filter

How do I set the default value in a multi-select filter. Example: Filter Country has 30 countries but when you first load the app, you have it set to Canada, US, Mexico and that is what shows in the label inside the dropdown.

US, Mexico, Canada

use sheet actions to make default selections when open the app.

Select values matching search criteria

or 

='Canada;US;Mexico'

What if we want to make the first value in the column to be the default label in the filter?

This way allows you to set the filter but how does it set the label?
