Show hover menu option is not available for charts in layout container

Hi All,

I am creating a dashboard using Layout container, I am adding charts inside Layout container after adding the chart Show hover menu for charts are not available inside the layout container. When I put chart outside of Layout container its working fine.

Can you please let me know how to enable Show hover menu for chart zoom in and zoom out in layout container.

Try this

1. Right click on the chart embedded inside the layout container

2. Choose 'edit properties'

3. Turn on the 'tool tips' option

Leave 'edit' mode

Click on the chart to activate it then hover over the bars.

I see. In that case, note the following:

A layout container can hold a range of visualizations while occupying a small amount of space on a sheet. When expanded to full sheet, each chart expands as well.

Therefore it is working as designed. There is no available configuration option to change this behavior to meet your requirement. Otherwise, keep a copy of your chart outside the layout container if you need to expand your chart exclusively (which you have already discovered in your experience).

Or simply consider using the 'Container' object as it seems to more closely align with your 'fullscreen' chart requirement.

Sorry to say but this will not fulfill my requirements, let me put this into feature request.

Hi!

If the "Show hover menu" feature isn't available in object or container settings, you might consider, as a workaround I know, using alternate navigation options, such as buttons or dropdowns, to allow users to zoom or focus on specific charts.

Did you put this in as a feature request? 
If so is there a way I can 'vote' for it as it's something we would really appreciate to get working.
It seems you lose a lot of functionality for an object as soon as it's in a container including the hover menu and not able to view data, download, as well as expand the object to full screen.
