Single Value Select with Filter Pane

If I have mentioned that this field "Always one selected value". Why can't I change that one value using the filter pane but only through the filters on the top row after I click on "Done Editing"?

What are some best practices to achieve the single select with the filter pane.

Hi,

The idea of default selection is to get a value selected on default when the page is loaded,

If you change the field settings to "Always one selected value" without selecting anything on the filter pane or the field's first value is set to default selection, On the other hand, if you do select the desired value & then enable the option of "Always one selected value" it will get that value selected by default.
