unintended legend behavior bar chart

Hi Qlik Community

When I want to color by dimension, my bar char creates unintended behavior with the legend. 

The first screen shot is before I change color and the legend behaves as I would like and expect. But in screenshot 2, you can see how Qlik Sense adds an "additional" legend on the x-axis. 
How do I get rid of that behavior?

How did you customize your legend?

The only customizations are that I do is select color by dimension.

The only solution I found is to choose Dimension 1 or 2 in the selection. If you want to customize your colors you will then have to use a master item.

I do use a mater item to customize the color. That is not my issue. The issue is that when I use the functionality to color by dimension the legend changes.

yes, by selecting dimension 1 or 2 the X axis will not change. Unlike selecting a dimension directly

Hi @CasperQlik ,

Please try this.

1. 1st delete your measure in your properties panel. 

2. Create that measure by yourself. (Master items-> Measures) do not add colours there. just give a name and add your expression.

3. Just drag and drop your newly created measure to the chart. 

As for me I got the 2nd chart that you showed, when I Turn off the show Legend option.

If I select by dimension 2 I get the desired view but then how do I control the colors?

That wont work as I see it. I still want the legend like in the first picture. I essentially need that view but with a way to control the colors.

This did the trick. I swapped my dimension 2 with the Master Item, set the colors in the Master Item, and that gave the desired effect. Thanks a lot!
