Max number of tries set to 1

I have recently moved from a single server to a two server system.  In the migration I have lost the max number of tries for an app to reload which was set at 5 has reverted back to 1.  Is there a config file I can change for this property?  I have changed in the triggers tab on some of the apps to attempt up to 10 times but still have some fail due to not holding in the queue long enough to get an engine.  I currently have 10 CPUs with QV using up to 9.  Basically what I am looking for is the master setting so these tasks will stackup and run in the order scheduled.  Each task is independent.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Craig Leite

What is your setting  Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for distribution:

System --> Setup --> Distribution Services --> QDS@...... --> Advanced

I have the Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for distribution set to 9.

I have the Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for administration set to 30.

I have 12 CPUs in the machine but have not changed the config to recognize more than 10.

I hope you can give me some insight on this issue.

Hi Craig,

May you can try changing the default by editing a key in an XML configuration file. The config file is called QVDistributionService.exe.config and it is located in the installation directory C:\Program Files\QlikView\Distribution Service, so NOT in the C:\ProgramData folder where you would expect it.

<!-- The number of attempts the document is tried to be opened before it's logged as error during distribution -->

    <add key="OpenDocumentAttempts" value="1" />

You will have to stop the services before you make any changes to the config file and also take a backup before you make changes. Hope this helps.

Note: I have not tried this personally at my end and also changing this might affect the "Number of Tries" value for Dashboard and Data Load tasks.

Regards,

Janaki
