Hello All,
To be clear, I have no background in computers, programming etc - I do however see the value in the qlikview concept!
I have played around with qlikview personal and have picked up how to create charts/buttons etc easily enough
I have started playing around with a few of my own ideas but the biggest problem I have is creating the charts with the appropraite information (or conveying the information that i want to put into the charts)
I have worked through the tutorial(s) but the expressions used are quite basic - sum(Sales) and the likes - but saying that, "sum" is about all i understand in creating expressions
Could anyone please point me in the right direction of where I could gain the most valuable information regarding assembling appropriate expressions?
* I do not have any examples that i can upload as I am at work and qlikview is on my personal computer
Many Thanks
D
Hi,
In this community discussion, we have a lot of expression, which was created by the different scenario.
and u can analyze about Set analysis in Qlikview help menu, it is very useful in a expression.

IMHO you could follow one of two (or even both) approaches:
On the other hand, "simple" isn't nescessarily "bad". QlikView excels in keeping things simple, both during design, development, management and through the complete user experience. You'll get to like it that way, I'm sure.
Best,
Peter
Hello
Many thanks for your input
Alot of the examples i have viewed are sale orientated with simple sum(Sales) expressions - any data i have is linked to healthcare (appointments, directorates etc)
Ideally, I want to compare hospital attendances from one year to another (in a number of formats) drilling down to the increases in each directorate, specialty to reflect the increase in service year on year
* i am having it difficult corresponding dates for the comparison
I admit my knowldge in all areas is extremely limited but i have managed to create some basic charts/graphs - i am however finding difficulty equipping the charts/graphs with the correct data
All your comments are greatly appreciated and any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
D
There are a few very nice Healthcare applications on the QlikView demo site at http://demo.qlik.com. Select Healthcare in the left listbox. You can download the qvw's. I don't know whether they fully match your expectations.
Best,
Peter
