A connection to Hive fails with:

The returned error is given by the official Hortonworks Hive ODBC Driver. The driver is configured as DSN.

Resolution

The solution is to modify the parameter Async Exec Poll Interval (ms) in Advanced Options to a value higher than the default one. Increase the value from the default 100. The required value is dependent on the environment - increase it at intervals to find the correct one.
