If you are using Qlik Sense SAAS you might notice that there is no Qlik IBM DB2 connector (within the Qlik ODBC connector package).
This is working as designed because this connector is no longer supported, please check out the following link for further information: Create an IBM DB2 connection
Alternatively you can still upload the data from IBM DB2 via Qlik Data Gateway (Direct Access) if you install the IBM DB2 ODBC driver on-premise.
Hi,
Can we confirm that there is no way to connect DB2 to Qlik Sense? Or is there a workaround that we can undertake?
Hello @ST_Engg
The IBM DB2 Connector in the Qlik ODBC Connector Package is no longer supported. As an alternative, you can install an ODBC driver for IBM DB2 and create a data source DSN. See ODBC.
Alternatively, you can also upload the data from IBM DB2 via Qlik DataTransfer https://www.qlik.com/us/products/qlik-data-transfer if you install the IBM DB2 ODBC driver on-premise.
If you require assistance to set up either, I would recommend posting in our Qlik Sense Connectivity and Data Prep forums.
All the best,
Sonja
Hello,
What about Qlik Data Gateway Direct Access?
Is there any way to connect to DB2 through that?
It doesn't look like Data Gateway is able to use DSNs, but perhaps is it possible to use one of the other connectors with a custom port?
Hello @d_abbatelli
Direct Access supports the following data sources: ODBC databases. Source: Setting up Qlik Direct Access. As such, DB2 is not supported.
If you are looking to have a connector introduced/reintroduced, please log an idea in our ideas section.
All the best,
Sonja
