When debugging connection issue to snowflake from Qlik Compose server, we may need to trace the ODBC driver log to identify the issue.

Environment

  • Qlik Compose
  • Qlik Compose for Data Warehouse

Below are the steps to enable the ODBC driver log.

On the server where the compose is installed:

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Regedit, then select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results, right-click and run as administrator

  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Snowflake\Driver

  3. Open LogLevel and set the ‘Value data  to 6

  4. Open LogPath and set the ‘Value data’ to the path where the log should be saved

Default location is: C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Snowflake ODBC Driver\log

It's a good practice to lower the log level once done debugging the issue as this will create a large file.
