Description
- NPrinting report preview error "The path is not of a legal form"
- Error found in NP Engine logs: StatusCode=Unavailable, Detail="Connect Failed" In then NP connection:
Root Cause (one or more of the following):
- Unable to connect fully to the Central or RIM node via an Alias that was used in the NP Connection proxy address path
- Invalid NPrinting Connection proxy address path to the QS proxy server
- Missing prefix within in NPrinting Connection proxy address path
How to Resolve the Issue:
- Change the NPrinting connection proxy path by removing the alias name of the proxy server (or node) and replace with the physical computer name of the QS central or rim node .
- Changed the identity of the NP connection used in the report task to the NP service account user ID.
- Save the changes and allow the NPrinting connection metadata to reload
Optional:
- Create and test an HTML report by previewing it.
- Result: Preview should work as expected
Recommend upgrading:
- Upgrade to the most recent version of NPrinting. November 2019 and later versions of NPrinting provides significantly greater flexibility with which user accounts may be used to generate NP connections and in turn successfully preview reports.
