Potential compatibly issue with Microsoft Security Update 2021-01 KB4598275

QlikView November 2018 (12.30.20100) experienced task executing issues after applying patch KB4598275 (Security-only update) on Windows Server 2012 R2 .

QlikView tasks were failing and the QlikView event and Windows System logs logged connection errors. 

This may also affect other Windows-based Qlik products, such as Qlik Sense and Qlik NPrinting.

Resolution:

Note that you may not be impacted by this issue as it is dependent on other security patches installed on the system as well as .NET parameters. Testing prior to installing this patch is highly recommended. 

If the patch is already installed and you experience stability issues:

1. Uninstall the Microsoft Patch
2. Restart the host server
3. Upgrade QlikView (or the relevant Qlik product) to the latest version
4. Install the Microsoft Patch
5. Test functionality. 

Cause:

This patch modifies and replace many previous patches and affects the following Windows services: Security updates to Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Graphics, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Cryptography, and Windows Virtualization.
