When configuring Multi-cloud environment it might be necessary to reconfigure the cloud deployment  after changes were made ( change of service accounts, privileges granted to service account to create certificates, etc.).

Environment

  • QlikView 12.50 and up.

Resolution

  1. In the QMC go to System/Setup/Cloud Deployments and delete any deployment configured there.
  2. Stop QMS and QDS services.
  3. Log into QMS and QDS servers with the service account, open MMC go to Certificates/Computer Account/Local Computer -> Trusted Root Certification Authorities/Certificates and make a backup of QvCloudCa  certificates.
  4. To make a backup -Right click on the QvCloudCa >All Tasks -> Export.
  5. Follow the Export wizard and save the certificate on the desktop or folder.
  6. Delete the QvCloudCa  certificates.
  7. Restart QMS and QDS services and verify the certificates were recreated.
  8. Reconfigure the Qlik Cloud Deployment

Cause

The issue can occur when privileges in the service account were changed and the initial certs were not created properly.

  • Verify the Service Account has full privileges on the server and there are no restrictions to create certificates.
  • All services should be running with the same service account.
  • Confirm the QVDistributionService.exe.config has Newtonsoft.Json.dll references described here.
