Resolution

Multiple root causes and solutions can apply.

Shared Path access

The affected rim nodes or users do not have access or permission to the shared (Service Cluster) path.

  1. Verify the affected node can access the shared path (Qlik Sense Service Cluster).
  2. Check the permission for the affected user to the shared path (Qlik Sense Service Cluster).
    1. Open the Windows File Browser and navigate to the shared folder
    2. Right-click the folder and select Properties
    3. Select Sharing tab and click Share
    4. Select and add the appropriate service account
    5. Give Read/Write Permission Level
    6. Select share
  3. Go back to the hub and try to create a new app

Certificates are unavailable

The Encrypted certificates may not be available after a Qlik Sense on Windows migration.

This issue can be identified by reviewing the Qlik Sense Engine logs (How To Collect Log Files From Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows). They will read:

Serialization: Unable to read object [xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx]. Reason: Service unavailable EncryptionService decryption failure [Failed to fetch decryption key in batch]

QVD: Cannot decrypt Encryption Info: Failed to find key for certificate

EncryptionServiceWindows: Could not get private key for certificate

To resolve this, import the encryption certificates using Windows PowerShell or Microsoft Management Console.

Certificates need to be exported and imported with a private key.
