Replicate has the capability to use a target endpoint for testing purposes that discards all the data, called a Null target. This can be helpful to:

Isolate performance issues to the source

Determine if an abnormally stopping task is due to the target or the source

Determine if memory consumption issues are due to the target or the source

Or any situation where you need to test a task but don't need the target data

Environment

The information in this article is provided as-is and to be used at own discretion. Depending on tool(s) used, customization(s), and/or other factors ongoing support on the solution below may not be provided by Qlik Support.

To create a Null target, press and hold the control key on your keyboard while clicking the "Manage Endpoint Connections" button. Next, click "New Endpoint Connection". Give it a meaningful name, select the role as Target, and using the drop-down menu select the Type as "NULL Target":

Click Save, close the Manage Endpoint Connections screen, and assign the new Null target endpoint to your test task.
