Qlik Replicate can use a target endpoint for testing purposes that discards all data, called a Null target. This can be helpful to:

  • Isolate performance issues to the source
  • Determine if an abnormally stopping task is due to the target or the source
  • Determine if memory consumption issues are due to the target or the source
  • Or any situation where you need to test a task but don't need the target data

Environment

  • Qlik Replicate

To create a Null target:

  1. Hold down the CTRL key, then click on Manage Endpoint Connections
  2. Once the Endpoint Connection panel appears, release CTRL
  3. Click New Endpoint Connection
  4. Set the Role to Target
  5. In the Type dropdown list, select: “NULL Target (>/dev/null)”

You can now use this NULL Target endpoint in your task for testing purposes.
