What types of storage drives can be used for the Qlik Replicate and Qlik Enterprise Manager data folder?

Using unsupported storage types can lead to issues such as:

  • Cannot stop or kill defunct tasks, even if services are restarted and tasks are manually stopped
  • Log files cannot be accessed
  • SQLite general error. Code <5>, Message <database is locked>

Environment

Qlik recommends using a block device (physical, virtual or iSCSI-based) for the Qlik Replicate and Qlik Enterprise Manager data folder.

  • Using NFS or SMB-based storage is not supported due to the associated latency which could greatly degrade the data transfer performance, as well as due to reduced reliability and compatibility issues.
  • Using of UNC path is not supported, such as \\mymapdrive\qlik\data
  • Qlik Replicate also does not support EFS due to its reliance on SQLite to store configuration information. See Qlik Replicate: Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) not supported for Linux Deployments.
