QlikProductUpdates

Qlik now offers capacity-based pricing and packaging for Qlik Analytics - building upon the rollout of the Data Integration capacity model in Q2. Starting today, our customers can select a pricing tier that best suits their needs around data movement and data analysis.

What does this mean for you?

Capacity pricing removes restrictions around data sources and users, allowing for greater value around data loading and analysis. This new pricing model uses Data as the primary value metric and is designed to empower you to better leverage your accessible data sets and support more analytics use cases with the use of AutoML and GenAI capabilities in Qlik Cloud. The structure of our new model is based on extensive market research and customer feedback, with the goal of providing greater flexibility and predictability when using Qlik Cloud. You can now subscribe to pre-defined data packs at a fixed monthly cost while making it easier to adopt the full set of cloud capabilities. All of this, with embedded telemetry, organizations can understand and monitor their data usage.

Capacity pricing offers the following benefits:

  • Simplified pricing with data as the primary value metric that is aligned with customer needs and ease of doing business with Qlik
  • Expand user access to support more analytics use cases within your organization
  • Drive Capability Adoption: access to key cloud capabilities and platform value drivers for faster time-to-value
  • Provide Data Usage Transparency: insights into data utilization and telemetry within Qlik Cloud

What are the new pricing tiers?

Understand the details of Qlik’s capacity pricing and packaging options on a new pricing page on Qlik.com showing the list prices of each plan. New customers can choose from three distinct plans when doing business with Qlik: Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. And existing customers can move to the new pricing model on their own timeline and can decide what tier is best for their needs.  Work with your account team to explore migration to this capacity model.

@E_Røse I'm pretty sure that applies only when using Qlik Cloud and QVDs as a resulting storage format as the Data Platform in DI. But yeah.

But DI has Data Moved as metric for all other purposes and Data Platforms, AFAIK.

@StefanBackstrand So if you use Qlik Cloud Data Integration to pipe data to QVD's in Qlik Cloud for analytic purposes  how are you charged?

@E_Røse Not 100% sure any longer, but I think for that particular set of data (you can have multiple data platforms hooked up in QCDI) you won't get charged on your quota for data winding up in those QVDs on the DI side.

If those qvd files will count against the files stored quota in Data Analytics, I do not know.

Hi, can someone explain

"Up to 50 GB/year of data for analysis."  on https://www.qlik.com/us/pricing

This sounds cumulative for the year which is extremely small, but I read it is daily peak? Also what happens if I load 40 GB and then delete them? Do I get my 40 GB back?

I am so confused why is this not clear enough.

Hello, @QlikProductUpdates can you explain with example this model ? As you can see in comment the documentation is not precise enough.

Thanks

Hi there,

When data is moved using QCDI with target as Qlik Cloud, only "Data for Analysis" is counted. "Data Moved" will be free of charge. This can be any file format.

As far as the measurement of "Data for Analysis" is concerned, the file size is considered. This is also documented in the Online help guide.

Hope this helps,

@sathish_sampath@QlikProductUpdates

I can't really find what I am looking for in the Online help guide. Say I have catalogued a Snowflake Database with 40 GB of data in it. I load this data with one loader app per table and store all tables into QVDs that also uses 40 GB of data. The sum of of peak in memory reload size of the loader apps is 60 GB.  How do you calculate how much of the capacity I have used?

Can I decrease my usage of data by loading all tables from the database with the same loader app and dropping the tables between each table load?

@E_Røse In that particular scenario, I'm pretty sure that the only amount counted against your capacity quota is the actual and final size of the QVD stored in Qlik Cloud Analytics. Which is most likely going to be much smaller than 40 GB, since QVDs are built to store an optimized data model/table.

@sathish_sampath can probably confirm.

@StefanBackstrand For the record, I have QVD's here that are double the size of their Snowflake source tables, so that's a dangerous assumption.
