Qlik Introduces a New Era of Visualization! READ ALL ABOUT IT

This month, Connector Factory has released more connectors for data integration, data analytics and application automation.

Qlik Data Integration

New SAP ODP Connector

We are continuing to expand our connectivity to the SAP Operational Data Provisioning (ODP) framework.  Last November, we released an SAP ODP Connector for our Qlik Data Integration Client-Managed product.  Last month we added an SAP ODP Connector for Qlik Cloud Analytics.

This month, we’ve introduced an SAP ODP Connector for Qlik Cloud Data Integration.

All of these connectors provide many benefits to SAP users vs. previous, existing SAP connectors including:

  • Simplified access to CDS Views and HANA Views
  • Access to Extractors, without the use of standalone network service
  • Usable with an SAP Runtime license
  • Does not require any separate Qlik SAP Connector license
  • No need for an SAP transport installation, particularly useful with an SAP managed cloud system
  • Up to 25% faster performance vs. Qlik’s existing SAP connectors

Additional SAP HANA Support

In addition to the SAP HANA connector, Qlik Cloud Data Integration now includes support for SAP HANA as the backend database for the SAP Application connector.   This release also provides Add Business Group Management capabilities.  Business groups allow SAP users to create groups of tables that are recognized by the Data Movement gateway, providing additional context when selecting data artifacts to be replicated.

Qlik Data Analytics

Access SAP ODP source via Direct Access gateway

The Qlik Data Gateway - Direct Access eliminates the need to open inbound firewall ports by operating behind your organization’s firewall.  It allows Qlik Sense SaaS applications to securely access behind-the-firewall data, over a strictly outbound, encrypted, and mutually authenticated connection.

This month we released a new version of the gateway that includes the SAP ODP connector as an additional option to access an on-premises SAP system.

You can learn more about the Gateway here.

Qlik Application Automation

New Qlik Application Automation connectors for Qlik Cloud Government

Qlik Cloud Government now supports the following Qlik Application Automation connectors:

  • Amazon SNS
  • GitHub (including GitHub Government)

Hi @Michael_Distler, we are looking for ability to fetch data from MS Dynamics 365 (ERP not CRM). Is this on the Connector Factory roadmap?

Hello @zukowski_przemek

Which Qlik product or service do you want to have this connector?

Hello @Michael_Distler ,

It could be pure Qlik Sense via Load Script. It could be QCDI. It could be Talend. To be honest - it could be whatever 🙂 Just need to have option to get data from MS Dynamics 365 (ERP not CRM) into Qlik.

This is a great edition to connectors.

@Michael_Distler  any idea on when SAP Report connector will be available either in Qlik Cloud Analytics or in Data Integration?

Hi @zukowski_przemek and @kaushiknsolanki

A SAP Report connector for Qlik Cloud Analytics is on the roadmap to be delivered by the end of this year.

Microsoft Dynamics ERP is on our list of planned future connectors, for both Analytics and Data Integration, but there is no timeline yet.

@zukowski_przemek - there are multiple Dynamics 365 ERPs - if you're looking for Business Central you're after then there's a useful knowledge base article: Using REST Connector with OAuth2 against Microsoft... - Qlik Community - 1928449. It's worth reviewing the comments as a few of us found tweaks we needed to get it to work properly.

I know it's not an official connector, but it's a way of getting it working at least - we've used it for years.
