How can I use an existing CSV file on Dropbox instead of recreating it?

Dear fellow Qlik enthousiasts,

I really enjoy the powerfull Qlik automation features! How about you guys?

At the moment we're running a nice automation in which we create a CSV file on Dropbox and are sharing this file with third parties.
The "Dropbox sharing link" changes everytime you recreate the CSV file.

Is it possible to use an existing file, empty/clear the existing information and than refill it with new information?
In this way the "Dropbox sharing link" would be unchanged.

Anyone an idea how to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance,

Sebb

Hi @Shai_E,

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at this case!!
When you succeed in truncating the file than we would be able to "keep" the same url.
This looks promising...😁

Kind regards,

Sebb

Hi Sebb,

May we get your workspace json file in order to test out your scenario?

You can right click on the blocks editor and click on "Download workspace.

Thank You

Hi Sebb,

I tested a similar scenario.

I am not sure that the scenario you described is currently possible.

But i would advise the following:

Instead of recreating the file each time on Dropbox you can use the block called "Check If File Exists on Dropbox"

This block will return a Boolean value, if we do find the file in Dropbox, we want to truncate the current file and then add data to it.

So we eliminated the need to recreate the file and thus we can still use the same share link for the file.

Our only issue now is to truncate the file and update it, perhaps we can do something with the "Raw API Request" block, which basically lets us use other endpoint in the Dropbox api , but i couldn't find the corresponding endpoints.

Best Regards
