Difference between "call Automation" (Basic Block) and "run Automation" (Qlik Block)

Hi,

I wonder what are the differences between both blocks. Obviously I have some more options available when using the "run Automation" Block. But what are the other differences?

I checked the documentation and there is not a lot of information. My questions are especially:

  • when using the "call Automation" block - does the main automation waits until this called one is finished? So in case I want to run several Automations in parallel I would have to use "run Automation"
  • does the "Run Automation" counts different in regards to the number of available automation runs (intern/ external) that are available for our account

What would be use cases for the call automation and for the run automation?

Many thanks for your support! Hope I did not missed any documents or other posts.

Hi,

this is correct.

"Call automation" stop the current automation and waiting until the other automation finish.

"Run automation" allow you to set what is the running method. I use this in other block ("Reload app") and run multiple blocks in parallel .

The case to use "call automation" is when there dependancies between automation (like update app or qvd)
