New input option - Qlik Field Mapping

Hi,

I'm working on an automation to push apps from DEV → ACC → PRD. In the input block, we currently have the following option: Drop-down – allows selection of a single option, but there’s no way to prefill it. It works, but can be better. The downside of the drop down approach is that we have to request multiple times for different spaces and apps, which makes it too much work. I want a solution that is short, simple, and fast. I want to have one menu, were people can select three spaces. One for source, one for target and one for archive. 

Recently, I discovered a new input option: Field Mapping. My expectation is that I can enter a list of names in a column, and the developer can select the correct spaces. With default mapping, we should be able to pre-set options for users. If a default option is set, users can immediately move to the next menu while still having the flexibility to choose other options.

The problem: the result is always empty, regardless of what I enter. Can someone provide guidance on how to use this option? I haven’t been able to find any documentation about the input block.

Hi @Maarsen_ , Basically do you want an Automation when anyone runs it then a Menu should appear wherein you can select Source,Target and Archive Spaces? In the drop down all the space names should be visible and u can select any one of your choices? is this your requirement?

Well, I would like to select source, Target and Archive. The format underneath would be ideal, but not sure if this is possible in Qlik Automate.

With the new automation field mapping, I would expect to make something like underneath where each field is a drop down menu for the space. 

I would like to save the latest setting. So when someone entered, DEV Apps > ACC Apps + Archive Space, I want to save this setting. When the automation triggers next time, it should reuse the setting from the latest reload. So you only have to click next in the first menu.
