Added new column/relationship to model - did not propagate through tool

My goal is to add a dimension to an existing DM.  The fact table key was not present in the fact table, and needed to be added.

I added the column to the model no issues.

I created a relationship from the new column to an existing table (used as the dim) - no issues

Cleared meta data cache

I went to add the column to the DW, application timed out...had to run the balance of the script by hand - no issues

Checked the ODS and DW - column exists in the ODS, column exists in the DW and DW Views.  Column exists in the TDWM_COLUMNS table 

Added new dim table to the DM - no issues

Attempted to add the new column to the DM logical attributes, clicked on add attribute - added attribute name, attempted to map column expression...column name not available in the path list to build the expression?

What has to be done to get have the new attribute show up in the list so Compose can add it to the DM fact table?

I'm a dummy...I forgot to add the dim to the fact table.  Bummer that the whole mart has to be dropped and re-created in the process of adding a dim.
