NPrinting filter using variables

Hello,

what I'm trying to do is dynamic filter based on the selections of the user in the filters object of Sense.

I created a variable in Sense called vSelected and using the function getFieldSelections, I was able to print the selections in Sense.

Then I tried to use the same variabe in a filter of NPrinting (Feb 2018) but also using "evluate field" I was not able to make it works.

I tried using $(vSelected), '$(vSelected)' but at the moment I was not able to find the solution to my problem. I'm always having error during the NPrinting report preview. I cannot use static filter because of the numbers I'm dealing with.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks a lot in advance .

Hi,

i think you need to provide us with more structured description as above is actualy very unclear.

Could you please screenshot:

  • your variable formula in Qlik Sense
  • what is it required output when evaluated in qlik sense
  • how do you evaluate it (do you apply any selections in Qlik Sense? - screenshot selections you apply)
  • screenshot how you put your variable in NPrinting filter and describe what it meant to do.

Keep in mind that filter in NPrinintg has to point to a single value, so if you variable returnes multiple values your nprinitng filter will NEVER work:
