Creating connection. Type:Server

Hi,

I'm trying to create new connection [type: Server], but it's failed with following error message.

The account used to run Qlik NPrinting Engine belongs to the QlikView Administrators Windows group on the QlikView Server.

I think the account who runs NPrinting do NOT have to belong to QlikView Administrators group, What does above message mean?

Hi 元康 興津

Above message means that you thought wrong, cause it needs to belong to QlikVIew Administrators group!

In the future i suggest you read requirements before assuming something up-front as it will help you to avoid issues:

Official documentations is available on https://help.qlik.com/

and the point which you are referring to is here:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/June2018/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/User-accounts.htm

and it says:

To connect Qlik NPrinting to QlikView documents:

  • The Windows user account must belong to the local QlikView Administrator group on all QVS servers used by Qlik NPrinting.
  • The Windows user account that runs the Qlik NPrinting Engine service must have one of the following:
    • A named user Client Access License (CAL) that is manually assigned to the Qlik NPrinting Engine service user active directory account, on the QlikView Server.
    • An active license for QlikView Desktop, which must be installed on the Qlik NPrinting Engine computer.

hope this helps!

cheers

Lech
