Emails randomly not delivered to recipient

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with Qlik NPrinting where emails are not consistently delivered to recipients. This problem has become more frequent over the last two months and occurs in two different environments (Nprinting May 2021 SR3 and Nprinting May 2023). Here are the details

  • Issue: Approximately 3% of the emails are not being delivered to recipients, even though the logs indicate that the reports are created and the emails are sent.
  • Logs Checked: I’ve reviewed the engine and scheduler logs in NPrinting, and our IT team has checked the email server logs. Both logs show that the emails are generated and sent successfully.
  • Environment: This issue is happening in two separate environments.

Steps Taken So Far:

  1. Verified SMTP settings in the NPrinting Web Console.
  2. Checked user roles and permissions in NPrinting.
  3. Worked with IT to review email server configuration and anti-spam settings.
  4. Ensured the NPrinting server’s IP address and sender email are whitelisted.
  5. Confirmed that there are no restrictions on the number of emails sent or the size of email attachments.
  6. Checked if emails are being marked as spam or junk by recipients’ email clients.
  7. Ensured no filters or conditions are preventing email delivery.

Despite these steps, the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem or have any suggestions on what else I can check or try?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Anton van Keep.

@avkeep01 I think its highly likely its happening in your email delivery system, remember that NPrinting is not an email server, its more like a regular client, so you need to look at what sort of email system you are using and is it capable of bulk email?

For example, I don't believe that O365 is recommended, should be using something like MailChimp etc.

Hi @avkeep01

so what does task log say for those undelivered emails? Does it say that email was sent?

if yes-what does your emails log say on smtp relay. Does it say anything?

All things you have done to investigate where are those reports are either on Nprinting side or recipient side. You did not mention anything about reviewing your mail system logs. If nprinting says it has sent a report it should be logged in your mail system so there is where you need to investigate further.
cheers
