Embed excel report into email body
Hi All,
This post purpose is to spark discussion - not to seek a particular solution. I am interested if there are many of you out there who used this approach (in NPrinitng 16) where you build a NPrinitng report using excel template, then you choose HTML output in Task, and then you choose that report to be embedded in email body. Easy, simple, quick!!! 3 X Win!!!
I came across this solution few times and it struck me that if it was used in NPrinting 16, there may be a lot of work to re-do it when migrating to NPrinting 17 and above. So I have raised Ideation https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/NPrinting-allow-for-other-templates-XLS-etc-HTML-output-to-be/id... to close the gap of that feature. Appreciate your votes there if you think this idea is good.
So lets see who used it?
looking forward to your comments - cheers!

in v16 a lot of handling e.g. caching and editing incl updating design , colums etc, was way less time consuming and more effective .
We had to upgrade to > v16 only for api options other wise I would have sticked still to v16 for sure !
Voting on your link has been suspended... I think they will never add some old v16 features to the later versions...
Qlik bought NPrinting because it was cheaper that their own reporting solution, redesigning it and there by killed or scrapped a lot of features ...

Hi @andries_bos
NPrinting is now more in support state than active feature development. We are way too late with voting for that feature and as you could see there were not many votes anyway, so from Qliks perspective that feature wouldnt look necessary.
It takes more active voting and community to push for really needed features.
cheers

yeah that post was from 2020, so not surprised you can no longer vote on that 🙂
