Features missing in NP 18
Hi everyone,
We are currently in moving from NP 16 to 18 and find the following features missing which is creating a lot of inconveneice,
1. Creation of Dependency task:
I have Publish tasks which needs to be triggered only after the completion of previous tasks. In NP 17 we dont have this feature and only time based schedule/trigger option is available. Would like to know if there is a workaround. And also any idea if future release of NP would have this feature.?
2. No Email Failure Notification:
Today the only way to monitor the tasks is going into the console. There is no email sent on failure which kind of makes it a difficult maintenance activity. Does Qlik plan on introducing the same ? Any work around available?
3. Inability to See the upcoming Tasks:
As in 16, we dont have any option to see the upcoming tasks in NP18. The filters available in NP 18 just gives the last updated which only refers to the changes if done to the tasks. No update about task schedule or upcoming task is available.
I understand Qlik is adding in new features every release but it would be great if Qlik had a roadmap of features they are planning to implement in upcoming releases.
Reaching out to all Nprinting users to help with their insights here.
Thanks again.

Workaround for your 1 point is by using API
more details here:
How to use Qlik NPrinting APIs inside a Qlik Sense load script
the other features are not known as of now.

For #1, please refer to Lech's post. We have integrated scheduling as a long-term roadmap item.
Task failure notifications is on the roadmap in the shorter term although I don't have a specific date at the moment. This is currently one of the top requested remaining gaps.
Advanced calendaring is also on the long-term roadmap. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this right now.
Best,
Stephen

Hi Lech,
Can we also run Import tasks through APIs? I was reading somewhere that Import tasks cannot be run through APIs.
