HTTP call error when trying to Edit template in NPrinting Nov'19

Hello All,

I am facing a problem with NPrinting when I press the 'edit template' button in the reports section. This below error message pops up :

HTTP call error sending request

https://servername, method post. Http status code InternalServerError(500).

Could anyone please help me to solve this problem.

Thanks a lot in advance.

ok great.

you said you are running it from the server - that is not really recommended although should still work. What web browser are you using?

have you read this?

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/np-support...

also those below?

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/System-req...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/np-support...

are all the pors open?

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Ports.htm

supported/not supported configurations:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Supported-...

the reason i asked about other developers as normally they would use their own laptops/pc to access Designer from their local machines, so i am surprised that you are trying to open it from the server where there could be a lot of restrictions on internet options and settings which can cause this problem.

HTTP 500 is quite general error. It can mean anything.

With what you have shared there is not much we can help you with. To allow us to help you more we would need to know your configuration:

  • where did you try to run "Edit report" from: server or some other machine?
  • is the version of NPrinting designer installed on this machine
  • is the version of designer same as server
  • was it installed with elevated (admin) privilages - it should be installed like that
  • do you meet all other requirements (use https://help.qlik.com to check for all of them as this is the official help site)
  • are you running supported environment (also check on help site supported and unsupported configurations)
  • does it happen with every report or only one?
  • does it happen only to you or to all developers

as you can see there needs to be a lot checked before we can move on to pin-pointing your problem
