I cannot abort running tasks in NPrinting

I had an issue where i could not start my QlikNPrintingmessagingservice service after installing the lattest windows paches.

I managed to eventually restart this service using info in

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/The-Qlik-NPrinting-messaging-service-and-the...

and https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/Troubleshooting/Qlik-NPrinting-Messa...

It baffles me that this occurs and had to be manually resolved...

However still none of my tasks works or restarted and all reports and caching holds showing 'running' or queued now for several hours.

How could I force to stop all  (old) running tasks as the abort button or action does not respond at all ?

Trying to stop a task will result in a no-sense message :

Although a backup of 9 days ago did not work, the backup of 30 days of my Nprinting server ago does work !.

All seems to work now and reports has been send. However, the cause of this problem is still not solved.

Maybe someone does have more information on how to debug the RabbitMQ as I did see an entry within the rabbitMQ log . It was something like :

'Unable to establish a connection to endpoint...." although I have recreated this MQ and managed to get the  QlikNPrintingmessagingservice started

rabbitmqctl.bat status did show information as fas as expected and what i've found online

As the RabbitMQ config only point to 0.0.0.0 I do not think this end point would be my qlik server (located on another server)

I'm glad I solved my issue using the old 30 day backup and still works after reinstalling all windows updates and a restart).

However getting to the cause of this problem would be glad : Hopefully Qlik can also add additional information or direction on where to search instead of showing a worthless message 'something went wrong... '.

I have managed to revert to an older 3o day old complete backup of my NPrinting server . This eventually solved my problem is is far less effort than to reconfigure a complete NPrinting server . (Loved the old Nprinting windows versien prior to version 16 !! )

The probleem seems to be comming somewhere within the ESB rabbit MQ that could not find an endpoint somehow

Why this problem started remains a mistery as first reverting tot the status before the last windows update dit not solve my problem.

There is a few possibilities.

Check if the rabbitmq is 'healthy' by applying this command as per the article you shared. (ensure you use the path to your version of rabbitmq

"cd %ProgramFiles%\NPrintingServer\rabbitmq_server-x.x.x\sbin Run: rabbitmqctl.bat status"

If it is not working consider the following:

1. Upgrade to the next Service Release of NPrinting. This normally repairs the rabbitmq. (**Ensure that you perform a backup of your NP database before proceeding further. Ideally you will perform a test restore on a test NP server to ensure the integrity of your NP database**(: How to BackUp and Restore Qlik NPrinting Repositor... - Qlik Community - 1715863 )

2. Consider that your Windows Server itself could be damaged (ie registry files etc) and you may need to reinstall and restore the above backed up NP database on an freshly installed and supported version of Windows Server that aligns with the version of NPrinting that you have installed. It's your call but it's always a good best practice. Especially if your Windows server has not been refreshed for a long time.

It is best to have a clean/fresh windows server install before reinstalling and restoring the NP database. (Ideally a windows server that is dedicated to running the NPrinting server / NP engine in order to prevent port conflicts that can occur if other programs or servers are installed).

Kind regards...
