NPrinting Engine Down

Hi Team,

From last couple of day  Qlik NPrinting Engine got down !!

First time on 11th Feb 2022 (1:45 PM PM BKK) we found Engine got down and to fix we restarted the all NPrinting services and Engine is back.

Now, today again on 14th Feb 2022 (5:45 PM BKK) got down and again  to fix we restarted the all NPrinting services and Engine is back.

May I request to please help us to understand the root cause.

On 10th March 2022, we upgraded the Qlik NPrinting version and after that only this issue started occurred.

Previous Version :
Qlik NPrinting February 2020
Version: 20.0.2.0

Current version Upgrade to :
Qlik NPrinting May 2021 SR2
Version: 21.14.5.0

Thanks
Santosh Kumar

Santosh,

There could be a number of reasons for why the Nprinting engine went offline. Please see the following KB article:

If the issue is solved please mark the answer with Accept as Solution.

Hi,

Based on the logs it seems that the Qlik NPrinting Messenger service was down. I would like to suggest to:

  • upgrade to May 2021 SR3, and to SR4 when it will become available, because they have some improvements on the messaging service
  • export also the Windows events logs (Application and System) so we can check what happened to the services

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Santosh,

Thanks for the logs. We checked them but the Application log has only a single event.

So we suggest to first upgrade to May 2021 SR3 that has some improvements and test if this solves. If after the upgrade you still have the issue please open a support case with:

  • Windows event logs. Please be sure that they are not empty
  • Qlik NPrinting log files
  • RabbitMQ log files you can find in the folder C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\RabbitMQ\log
  • details like hardware resources and software configuration
  • steps to reproduce. For example check if the issue appears after starting the creation of a huge report.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
