Is there anyone that can help me fix this error:
I try to open template to edit. It started after I deleted the second connection I made on a Nprinting app.
I am pretty sure it is trying to find something that isnt there anymore, but how do I delete it?
I have deleted the sheet objectes in the template found on the server. And have also tried to just re-add the connection and see if it works then. No luck so far.
Translation: The Method or operation is not implemented.
We couldn't wait for a fix anymore. As we went past the end of the month. We have fixed it by restoring from backup.
Would be nice if this bug can be fixed in a future release.
Using a second connection on a NPrinting app is a bit odd to me maybe you can tell me how to use it properly?
When I had the second connection and the fields were the same for for example the calendar. Of course you want to do some filtering on the report for example every user gets its own store info. Or a cycle of all the stores for the Management. How can you do this with two connections. The cycle with just one field didn't work of course because just the one field from the one connection was cycled through. Adding a second cycle broke it and made it run for ever. Which was to be expected. But how would you be able to do this anyways?
PS. I have now fixed it by storing the data I needed in QVD and loading this in the first app.(and then removed the second connection which caused this error)
Hi,
This bug is fixed starting from November 2017. From the Release Notes:
Deleting connections creates broken reports
Connections to QlikView documents or Qlik Sense apps could be deleted, leaving orphaned entities
(reports, filters) behind. This caused strange behaviors. For example, a report could be edited, but not
previewed or published. Deletion is irreversible, and a missing connection can render your reports
unusable.
Now, when you try to delete a connection used by other entities, you will see a confirmation window
with a list of entities that use the connection you are trying to delete.
In an NPrinting app you can create how many connections you need. When you create filters or when you add objects into a template you select the connection from which you want to take the fields. The main advantage is that you can create reports with objects from different QlikView document or Qlik Sense apps. Unfortunately at the moment (February 2018) Linked Fields are not supported as they were in Qlik NPrinting 16 so for example using cycles with MultiDoc reports is not yet possible.
You can create filters with fields from different connections.
Best Regards,
Ruggero

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But this bug is not fixed the customer is running feb 2018 release. So please put it back on the bug list.
Hi,
Now, when you try to delete a connection used by other entities, you will see a confirmation window with a list of entities that use the connection you are trying to delete.
If the customer pressed Delete after seeing this very clear message it means that the customer decided that he want to delete the selected connection. Before to continue, Qlik NPrinting notifies all reports that will no longer work after deleting the connection and also states in bold red that the action cannot be reversed.
Best Regards,
Ruggero

I was working on this my self. I have not seen this message. So something going wrong there.
If you deleted the connection on a November 2017 or newer version the message should appeared.
If you are able to replicate the issue you can open a support ticket, it will be verified and in case a new bug will be opened.
I tried on February 2018 and it worked fine every time in my installation.

Ruggero

Was created on feb and I did not see the message. Don't know why it didn't show. Will see if I can reproduce if I have the time.
