Hi,
Some of my NPrinting tasks are failing, but the status shows as "Completed". These failures therefore remain undetected unless users report about non-delivery of emails. Some of the tasks are showing status correctly when they fail.
NPrinting Version: June 2020 SR1
QlikView Version: April 2019 SR4
How can I make the status reflect the failures correctly! Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards,
Bhaskar
Hello @bhsharm5, do you see any error on NPrinting logs about the email not being delivered? Are you using any kind of filters that might interfere with the delivery of these reports? Would it be possible for you to share the logs and provide an exact timestamp of when they are not delivered? If in the log file you can see that Qlik NPrinting send the emails to the SMTP server and they are not delivered it could also be that you have an issue on SMTP server. For example it can fail to send a lot of emails in a short time.
Hi,
Please when posting a new question about an error share the details about the error. This will help other people to better understand your issue. You can check the Task Executions page and the Qlik NPrinting log files.
If the problem is that emails are not delivered but Qlik NPrinting completed the job the issue it often in the SMTP server. Refer to the page for a complete list of the typical SMTP issues https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/AdministeringQVNprinting/Set-up-emai.... Check the SMTP server anti-spam configuration, maybe Qlik NPrinting is sending too much emails in a short time, or the attachments are over size.
In the logs you could see that emails are delivered to the SMTP.

Hi @bhsharm5
This 'might' also be caused by the way you are using task error management.
Error handling: reports
By default, if report generation fails, recipients still receive scheduled emails. Instead of the report, users see an error message and instructions to contact an administrator. Administrators can disable this behavior so that emails are not sent when reports fail. Report failure appears as an error in the log files.
If you disable this behavior, emails are still sent if at least one report was created successfully.
For example:
You have 3 users in a single task. The task has 2 reports for each user, which are sent via e-mail.
