Hi Community,
I am facing this issue with Nprinting 17 in which I am trying to make report with connection to an existing QVW. I have added a new chart and variable to the QVW and was trying to add those to the ppt report template. But even though the QVW is saved and connection is reloaded with latest metadata, I am not able to see the chart ID and variable in the 'Add object' pop-up list in template editor. There is one more variable who's is 'June 2017' in the application but it's been shown as 'March 2017' in the Np@rinting report.
Kindly help me to troubleshoot the issue.
Thank you in advance!

hey mate,
Based on details you have provided i am suspecting you are experiencing it using older version of NPrinting with "LOCAL" connection - which was a known and very well documented on community problem!!
There is so many factors which we have to consider so it is hard to troubleshoot with just generic information.
cheers
Lech

Hi Tushar,
Kindly delete and recreate the connection it will solve your problem.
Thanks,
Arvind Patil
do not do this unles you have not build any reports yet!!!
If you already build templates you will have to rebuild them all as each connection has unique GUID ID which links it with template nodes!
Hi Lech,
Thank you for the help.
I am experiencing this issue in NPrinting 17.2.0 version and I shall upgrade it to June 2017 version soon.
Yes, I am using a 'Local' connection to the QVW and the app do not have any triggers at all. Please note that this application had been used before in the same report with same connection. This issue was first noticed when we wanted to add image of a chart newly added to the QVW app, into the nprinting report template. But even after refreshing the QVW and generating metadata of the connection, the new object ID is not visible in the object list in template editor.
Please advise.
Regards,
Tushar
Hi Arvind,
Thank you for the inputs. I have already tried to recreate the connection but that didn't helped.

Tushar
Hi Tushar,
as far as I know this should have been solved in NPrinting 17.4, but if you can wait I would suggest you to upgrade directly to upcoming NPrinting 17.5.0 (September 2017) since it will come with lots of improvements over 17.4.
Anyway, to try to overcome your issue with NPrinting 17.2 I would suggest to do the following after adding an object to the QVW file (file that must be saved of course):
1) When the system is idle disable the engine from Admin-->Engine manager page and be sure that after a few seconds all qv.exe are closed (if not kill them using the task manager)
2) close the template editor if already opened
3) Trigger a reload of the connection
4) enable the engine that should start opening new Qv.exe that should open the updated qvw file
5) when reload metadata is finished edit the template again and try to add the new object to the report.
Please tell me if this workaround works for the issue you are facing. Thanks
Best regards,
Carlo
Did you do a reload in the QMC for your QlikView Document? Otherwise you won't find your changes.
Yes, I have reloaded the QV document before extracting metadata for the report.
And did you try to restart the nprinting services?
