Nprinting Error: CEF_ON_JS_ERROR_MESSAGE_RECEIVED

Hello,

we have some Nprinting reports running and once in a while for one of the Nprinting reports Errors and the logfiles show this error.

WARN: error during report generation: Object Keppk from Sense app [APPID] had problems while rendering. ERROR: CEF rendering exception. Error 'CEF_ON_JS_ERROR_MESSAGE_RECEIVED'. Image failed to render due to a JavaScript error. For further details, check '[LOGID]' in nprinting_engine_cef.log.

I found a post on the community talking about this error but the answer isn't what i'm looking for.

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting/NPrinting-error-CEF-rendering-exception-while-generatin...

the situation is as follows, this report generates every day and once in a while this error pops-up.

I have recreated the app in MYwork deleted the app in the stream and published the My work app to that stream again.

unfortunately after a few days the same error poped up. the object ID, appID and the LogID are different but the error still is the same.

can somebody explain;

1.  Explain in detail what this error means

2. How does this error get created

3. A way to solve this issue permanently

Hi,

I hate to state obvious - but you are running unsupported configuration: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/System-requirem...

First you need to sort this out and then we can get back to the error (if it is still there)...

Hi @Lech_Miszkiewicz,

thx for the response. I'll see if I can upgrade to the supported versions.

but for my other questions. what does this error mean? how does it work.

N-printing takes a snapshot of the object and then it crashes? or how does this work exactly?

Well - This is Qlik IP (intellectual property) and is not open source. I can only assume based on what needs to happen that nprinting webrenderer (nprinting web browser) tries to export image and since version of Qlik Sense is not supported as it is newer than the NPrinting it is not able to export that image with API call.

Also you have reference in this error to look at nprinting_engine_cef.log - what did you see there?

We have the same issue here but is not related to unsupported version. We are using Qlik NPrinting May 2022 SR4 with Qlik Sense February 2023 Patch 1. How can we solve this?

HI @jonas_viklund

When you run connection verification and metadata reload do you get all validation checks green?

Yes, we have reloaded metadata and verified the connections, all green. We use four different connections for our report and all are checked.
