Nprinting report taking long time to finish

Hello All,

We have recently upgrade Nprinting to may 2022 version and after that all the reports are working as usual but there is one task which will distribute around 80 reports to the users and folders.

We have created groups and will assign the users to that required groups based on the criteria.

Below is the error we are getting and after few hours the report got struck and it's not moving further ,then we are aborting the task.

  • The user [user name] is disabled. Reports will not be generated.
  • The user [user name] listed in task [taskname]does not have permission to view one or more reports attached to the task. No email will be sent.
  • The user [user name] listed in task [task name]does not have permission to view one or more reports attached to the task. Report will not be published to folder

I'm not sure it's because of the above warning it got struck at some point after generating few reports.

There are no other warnings or errors after generating few reports but it's running whole day.

Please help me on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

  • The user [user name] is disabled. Reports will not be generated.

The user is disabled, it means the user exists but it is ignored when generating and distributing the reports. This is a feature, not an error. You can enable that user from the Web Console or delete it but deleting is irreversible. Refer to https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/Recipients&Users/Create-users-filter...

  • The user [user name] listed in task [taskname]does not have permission to view one or more reports attached to the task. No email will be sent.

Check if the user has the appropriate Security Roles associated. This is a configuration, not an error. About Roles https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Security-manage...

  • The user [user name] listed in task [task name]does not have permission to view one or more reports attached to the task. Report will not be published to folder

Same as before, it is related to the configuration of the user permissions.

Performances depend on many factors. You can read some details here https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Performance.htm

Which was the starting version? The normal upgrade process doesn't change the security settings of the users so if you upgraded from an older 17+ version, you had the same settings in the previous installation.

Good morning. Check to make sure the users that are a part of this task are indeed still valid. Also, you are distributing through e-mail and folder. Make sure the folder you are distributing the Nprinting reports to the users in associated with this folder have 'Read' or 'Full Control' permissions. See the following two KB articles for your reference:
