QV Variable Input Value in Chart Used in OnDemand Report

I've found a lot of posts regarding NP and variables but didn't see this specific situation.

We have about 20 variables used in expressions that allow our users to do "what if" analysis.  All of the variables are an Input Box so the user can adjust the values to test different scenarios.  These variables are used in a chart that is on an NP report and the report was recently added to OnDemand.  The problem is that the values the user enters aren't passed (or aren't working) when run from OnDemand.  The chart does work correctly on the Access Point.

The "Working with Qlik Objects" page (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2024/Content/NPrinting/ReportsDevelopment/Qlik-objects...) doesn't reference variables so I'm not sure what the official stance is on variable.

Thoughts?

Louis

Hi,

It is very simple - only field selection state are passed through when running OnDemandVariable input state is not taken into account.

Thank you @Lech_Miszkiewicz

Furthermore, this point is further elaborated in our help pages:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2024/Content/NPrinting/GettingStarted/HowCreateConnect...

On-Demand reporting

On-Demand reports cannot connect to multiple QlikView documents.

You cannot create connections to QlikView (nor Qlik Sense) documents that use the following if you are generating On-Demand reports:

  • Variable selections used from input buttons as triggers to select data
  • Input boxes
  • Calculated dimensions
  • Hidden tabs
