i'm curious, any plans for a Nprinting release with new functionalities? I see only improvements but not closing gaps between nPrinting 16. For example, add fixed pdf documents to a mailing.

I wouldnt count on that. Nprinting is now in maintenance stage so only bug fixes and ongoing support is happening + individual features from ideation.
If you have a feature request ideation is the place to lodge such request so others can vote for it.
