Security - Nprinting on demand Qlik Sense

Hi,

I have started using the NPrinting on demand extension as included in the Dashboard bundle. Currently using Qlik Sense and NPrinting April 2019.

I can generate reports from my Qlik Sense app, but when doing so I get prompted with a logon dialog to https://<servername>:4993

The report will only work when logging on with my NPrinting sevice user (an admin account). This brings me to believe that the account I am using in Qlik Sense is missing some sort of access rights. I have even tried to make this user an Administrator in NPrinting but it does not help.

Anyone who knows what security needs to be granted to be able to run NPrinting on demand reports in Qlik Sense?

Hi,

Have a look at the details in the following article https://support.qlik.com/articles/000060552.

Thanks, we are only using the Qlik server within our private network so there is no CA cerfificate installed. I guess this is required then.

Hi Magnus,

What you need to take into account is what NPrinting role particular user/recipient has. In other words the user who wants to be able to run OnDemand report from Nprinting needs to be authenticated by NPrinting. For this you could use NTLM Windows authentication, but that requires users in NPrinting to have properly assigned domain names.

Once you have a user in NPrinting created you need to assign a Role to such user. This role must allow user to run OnDemand reports.

Obviously Report has to have OnDemand/API trigger ticket in report setting to appear on OnDemand reports list.
