Upgrading NPrinting

Hello, my company just upgraded NPrinting to February 2021.  Do I need to upgrade the Printing designer? If so how do I go about doing that?

Hi - yes you do!

It is written in https://help.qlik.com that Server, Engine and Designer MUST BE on the same version:

how you go about it? Again ALWAYS REFER TO DOCUMENTATION

Additional comment: In the past installer had to be run with "Administrative priviledges". Quick glance at the video and written comments does not mention it anymore. I still prefer to run in with admin rights though (just in case)

Regarding download files you may download them from qlik download site however your account must be linked with the product. If you cant see NPrinting on product download page you may ask your administrator or the person who upgraded server and engine so they can provide you with the executable.

Hi,

Yes, all Qlik NPrinting parts MUST be exactly at the same version otherwise they could have communication issues. 

To Lech's links I ant to add also the documentation about the upgrade processe at https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Qlik-NPrin... and in the Release Notes.

What about "run as administrator" requirement for installer? Is that still required? 

i have not seen it neither in links nor in video from help page. In the past it was required otherwise there were issues with designer launching.

Hi,

In recent  versions it should be automatic so, if needed, Windows will ask you if you want to run the installation as an admin. 

I install by using the "Run as administrator" option but it is just my choice and there are no issues in using it.
