Hello @Sindhukarthik ,

Thanks for reaching Qlik community

QEM is a monitoring tool that allows us to monitor various applications such as Replicate, Compose, and Qlik Catalog.

All the stuffs you perform in Replicate UI can be done thru QEM UI as well

In addition  QEM also offers API support. Furthermore, there is an Analytics platform available within QEM where you can monitor the trends of your tasks based on different components.

Regards

Arun

Could you please explain about replicate UI.

The Replicate UI runs on the Replicate server itself and only communicates with Replicate on that server. . The QEM can run on it's own server and reach out to many Replicate servers providing a single central starting point to manage a more complex Replication environment.

Hi @Sindhukarthik

You can learn more about Qlik Enterprise Manager here: Qlik Enterprise Manager – Data Ingestion Management | Qlik

Also, Enterprise Manager can handle Audit Logs, which is useful for the administrator identify the author of some specific actions on Replicate, such as StopTask, RunTask, ExportReplicateTask etc

Hello @Sindhukarthik ,

I'd like to add more points to brief the difference:

  • One Qlik Replicate GUI console manage one Replicate Server, if you've multiple Replicate instances, then need open many different browser tabs, it's hard to manage the consoles.

  • Qlik QEM GUI is a single go-to interface to create data endpoints, design tasks, execute them, and monitor the replication process in near real-time. In this perspective, the functions are similar to Replicate GUI, however It provides a single point of control for multiple Replicate Servers.
Besides that, QEM provide many additional functionalities than Replicate, for example:
    1. Audit trail
provides you with information about the transactions executed in Enterprise Manager
    2. Analytics (include Analytics dashboards and Trends dashboards)
can be used to measure server and task metrics over a specific time-period
    3. Rich APIs and CLI to integrate with other 3rd party tools and programs
(Replicate only provides very limited commands to be called in DOS format)
REST API/.NET API/Python API provide programmatic interfaces for performing tasks typical operations.
    4. QEM provides more functions and information while monitoring and controlling Replicate tasks.
    5. QEM provides Qlik Compose, and Qlik Catalog Server management

Hope this helps.

John.
