Operating system upgrade

We are upgrading from Linux Red Hat 7 to Red Hat 8. What is the procedure for Qlik Replicate when upgrading the Linux operating system?

Hello @fj40wdh ,

Seems there is not too much impacts to Replicate. In general the steps are:

1- Stop tasks one by one

2- Stop Replicate Services  ($./areplicate stop)

3- Perform OS upgradeing

4- Start Replicate Services  ($./areplicate start)

5- Resume tasks one by one

I'm not sure what's the Replicate version and the relevant Database Client versions,  it's better:

1. Do acceptance test on UAT/TEST env prior to PROD system;

2. make sure Replicate, database clients are supported in RHEL 8.

Hope this helps.

Good luck,

John.

@fj40wdh ,

Hello thank you for the post to the QDI forums. To add to John's post when upgrading the new Red Hat Linux Server also keep in mind the default Security Policy for the TLS environment for version 8 I believe is set to version 1.2 and prior versions of Replicate other than 2022.5 you may have to add an exception to work with Replicate Server. I hope this is helpful as well.

If the default of TLS is changed in the OS layer you may want to also consider upgrading to the 2022.5 version if you are not yet on this version which supports the new TLS version at the OS default.

Thanks!

Bill
