In a multi node environment, Extension's present in Extension bundles are not listed in the Qlik Sense Management Console.

After an upgrade and installing the dashboard and extension bundles,  the installation completes successfully, but no extension or a limited amount of extensions are shown in the QMC > Extensions list.

Resolution:

Manually reinstall the bundle.

  1. Go to Programs and Features > Qlik Sense Extension Bundles > Change
  2. Select Next
  3. Select Change
  4. Accept the License Agreement and hit Next
  5. Make sure to select Entire Feature will be installed on local hard drive for both Dashboard Bundle and Visualization Bundle.
  6. Hit Next.
  7. Click Change
  8. After it finishes restart the Qlik Sense Repository Service.
  9. Then the bundles should be visible in both the QMC and the Hub.

Manually move the files after install

Should the install not have helped:

  • Verifying that they are installed locally where the install was performed: C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\ExtensionBundles
  • Verify if the extensions are correctly located in your Service Cluster share, such as:  \share\static\extensions
  • You may attempt to re-import the Extensions using the Qlik Sense Management Console or move the extensions directly from C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\ExtensionBundles  into your cluster shared (e.g : \\qlikserver1\share\static\extensions)

Duplicate Extensions:

If the above step of importing fails with:

Failed to import extensions. Please check the log file.

Then an extension may already be present in the QMC, preventing the entire zip file from being imported.

Verify this by reviewing the repository system log file located in  C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Repository\Trace.

You may a similar error at the end of the file:

68    20190408T113752.706+0200    ERROR    QlikServer1.domain.local   System.Repository.Repository.Core.Repository.Common.TransactionUtility    34    4b65ae4d-1621-4938-937d-29c99a3022ac    Domain\qvservice    Error when committing   Duplicate extension (the extension already exists or occurs more than once in the ZIP file): qlik-funnel-chart-ext       at Repository.Core.Resource.Support.ExtensionResourceSupport.<>c__DisplayClass19_0.<CreateExtension>b__0()??   at Repository.Core.Repository.Common.TransactionUtility.RunInTransaction(ITransaction transaction, IEnumerable`1 actions)    6c1b4f34-5099-43cd-9b9e-ea921f0a4c33    4b65ae4d-1621-4938-937d-29c99a3022ac

In this case, log on to the QMC with a Root Admin account, go to your extensions on the left pane, locate and click on the extension name you found in the error, then delete the file.

Once deleted, try to re-import your extension zip file, it should work now.

What is the root cause of this issue?  Our extensions are disappearing after every reboot of the server.

Hi,

I am trying to isolate my extension problem. With one installation (aug 2022, patch 14 Windows Enterprise, single node install) the extensions (both dashboard and visualization bundle) disappear without an apparent cause. I have tried the following:

Repair install

Update install (happened with an older version as well)

Patch update on a regular basis

Custom template repair and disablement

without success.

I just import the bundles again to resolve the issue but it does not hold.

I am unable to find any errors in log files that can shed a light to what is causing it.

Is there anyone who has had the same issue?
