How Are Qlik Sense And QlikView Extensions Supported?

QlikView and Qlik Sense provide the capability to extend presentation capability by creating extension objects.

It is important to note that Qlik only supports the API calls made to the QlikView or Qlik Sense server. Qlik does not directly support 3rd party extension implementations. For issues with 3rd party provided extensions, the primary support channel is the 3rd party extension provider. The only exception to this is the extensions provided by Qlik on Qlik Market.

In order for Qlik to support extension API related issues, the script must be minimized to show the issue being related to the specific API and not the custom code using the API. This initial troubleshooting and simplification of the script must be done by the extension developer. 

Extensions provided by Qlik employees on Qlik Branch or Qlik Community are not supported by Qlik.

A customer should also consider this:

  • Extensions are generally not supported by Qlik. Qlik Support can only provide recommendations and general configuration advice for extensions. 
  • Extensions should be tested one by one when installing them. This is meant to verify them working and not to break standard functionality. 
  • A QlikView or Qlik Sense upgrade might cause conflict with non compatible extensions. This can lead to Qlik product malfunction. It is recommended to always validate upgrade and extension compatibility in test environment prior to upgrading production environment. Any compatibility issues or questions should be reported to the extension provider.
