I'm trying to install QlikView Server v 11, SR3, on a new Windows Server 2012 machine. The installer gives this error:
"The operating system is not adequate for running QlikView Server x64"
Bullcrap. This machine is a beast, 12-core Xeon X5670 (yes, that's 64-bit), 96 GB of RAM; I bet it could even run Crysis. The QV11 sys reqs doc lists Windows Server 2012 as supported. I have .NET 4.0 installed, which fits the reqs doc, but not 4.5
Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a workaround, or should I open a ticket?
Thank you,
Jonathan Shaltz
You probably have the wrong install kit for Win 2012.
The kit you need is QlikViewServer_Win2012andUp.exe

our beast is 32CPU and 3/4 Terabyte of mem ...
Oh, I forgot, if you develop your Qlikview on the Win 2012 server you will also need
QlikViewDesktop_Win8andUp.exe install kit as well.
Silly me, I clicked on "Windows (64bit)" (sic) and expected to get the version that runs on 64-bit versions of Windows. It would be nice if the installer was a little more specific. Pulling the Windows Server 2012-specific edition, it looks like that does the trick.
Woah, I thought I had fab new hardware! I must admin, I've been beasted.
Thanks, Mr. Scotchford! I'll be sure to snag the correct desktop app if I upgrade to Windows 8.
