We have a couple of apps that will load quickly and completely in IE (version 11) but only partially in Firefox and Chrome. We also have a few apps that do load completely in all three. Is there a something in the app (a parameter, some functionality, etc.) that needs to be checked?
Presumably you're using the plugin for IE, which you don't have for Firefox and Chrome. That would cause them to display differently. To see it both ways during development, it's View -> Turn On/Off Webview. If you go in an application that has problems, and turn on webview, and you see the problem appear, then that's the problem - you can't do what you're trying to do without the plugin. Maybe there are some rules, but I almost never need to worry about other browsers, so the few times I have I've just clicked back and forth and fiddled until I got something I was happy with in both views, even though it was different in both views.
Or.. I could be completely off base. But that's the first thing I'd look at.
Hi,
When you open the qvw in Chrome and Firefox, is there any error is coming?
Send me screen shots.
Hi John,
Thanks for the info but no change.
Michael
Hi Muthukumar,
App in IE:
App in Chrome:
Update: I figured out why the app won't load. Inside of one container we had 4 selection lists: Department, Division, Unit, & Provider (bottom of left side of app). I moved those lists onto the sheet and it loads. However, in making a selection, the app never loads based on the selection. I checked in IE and this isn't a problem; the app with the new selection data will load pretty quickly.
What version of QlikView server are you running? Can you post the Version, SR & Build No.
11.20.13206.0
I too am experiencing a partial load issue in Chrome. I also, initially, narrowed it down to the Container; When I exploded the container to it's individual selections and removed the container object it worked fine in both IE and Chrome. However, that doesn't fully answer the question of why it shows in IE and not Chrome.
We have 2 instances...Dev/Test and Production. We just upgraded our prod environment from 11.2 SR16 to 12 SR5. Dev/Test was upgraded about a month ago and all was well with IE and Chrome, with and without containers. Prod, on the other hand, shows some dashboards not fully loading...only a few objects appear...when it has a container object, but these show fine in Dev/Test. I suspect it may have to do with either 1) the version of IE or 2) the version of Java that is present on each server.
I can ask the admin to check each server for versions of IE and Chrome and update accordingly. The only reason I see the issue, as well as some users, is I need to use IE9 for Oracle (long story) so I cannot update my laptop to IE11. I use a desktop with IE11 and latest Chrome and do not see the issue.
Thoughts? Ideas? Am I on the right track wrt the server configurations of IE & Chrome?
V/r,
John
