Hello everyone,
My client has 40 named CALs and 39 of them have been assigned. I want to assign the last one to a user. I have created that user in the local users and groups on the server. However when I try to assign CAL to him in the management console, I cannot find him.
I have used the wildcard character in Search for Users and Groups. After I added him to the local users and groups, I have log off and log on, I have tried restart the QV directory server and management service, I even have restarted the whole server. But I still cannot find that user in management console and therefore cannot assign CAL for him.
Can anyone help with this? Apart from creating the user in the local users and groups on the server, what do I need to do before assign CAL in management console?
Thanks.
Hi xufei123,
Have you tried manually insert the user on "Manual Input of User Names" box ?
I've had a similar problem in one of my clients and insert the users manually solved my problem.
In my case, I believe it's a Qlikview bug, as informed in the following post
http://community.qlik.com/message/211149#211149, because I had to insert all users manually.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
Did you setup a DSC for the local machine?
Bill
Thank you for your reply. I do not have that box in my management console.
Yes. customer actually has two servers. I did exactly same thing on these two servers. One works, user can be immediately found after I added it into the new server's active directory. The other one does not. User cannot be found after I added it into the old server's local users and groups.
Customer is ok because they are shutting down the old server. I just want to find out why this happened.
Thank you anyway.
Hi xufei123,
I'm using Qlikview V11 SR2 update 2.
Regards
I just upgraded to QV 11.2 SR3 and suddenly I could not search for users the search "magnifying glass" is greyed out and it won't search anymore - I can do the manual add as mentioned and it works - but the search now being broken is not good! Way to go!
Anyone know what causes this issue?
Thanks,
